This is the first half of my high school’s football game from Saturday which I was play-by-play commentator for (and watching on YouTube you will find the link to the second half). This was the second time I’ve done commentary on a game (I did last March’s student-faculty basketball game) but the first for a varsity sport and the first football game I’ve covered. This is something I aspire to do going forward so I hope you enjoy and share this—get my voice going around!
Fergal Devitt explains the name ‘Finn Balor’:
The ‘Finn’ is from Fionn mac Cumhaill, which is an Irish translation of the name of a mythical warrior.
The ‘Balor’ is also from Irish mythology, and he was king of the Fomorians, a group of supernatural beings. The name Balor is also said to be taken from the Celtic for “the deadly one.”
I mean, sure, we’ve never heard a name quite like Finn Balor, but with that explanation, hell yeah, it’s a badass name.
It was once said love is giving someone the power to destroy you, but trusting them not to.
